So many places to visit… so little vacation time.  Although, that’s not really true – we’re both pretty lucky and earn a fair amount of annual leave.  Maybe that sentence should read: So many places to visit… not enough vacation time.

Ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you that I love everything about traveling – visiting new places, flying, eating local foods, even the planning.  I love planning trips; I’ve even planned trips to places I’ve never been for other people.  Maybe I should have been a travel agent.  I don’t love feeling like we’re wasting time trying to figure out what to do or even worse, missing out on something because we didn’t know about it.

That’s also why I wanted to start this blog – partially so we can relive our adventures, but also as a way to keep detailed notes for future travelers.  I’m not suggesting that our itineraries will work for everyone, but hopefully they’ll give you a jumping off point!

We like to pack a lot into our days while we’re traveling.  We’re not art lovers, but enjoy an occasional visit to an art museum; we’re not hardcore outdoorsmen, but will take a good hike when the surroundings call for it; and we’re not millionaires, but will spend money on once-in-a-lifetime excursions when we can.

We really just enjoy experiencing each place we visit for what it has to offer and trying to make the most of our limited vacation time.
